Hello, friends. I am Thomas Chor-Wing Chiu (“Zhao Zuorong” in Mandarin/Putonghua). I would like wish you all a happy and healthy life, success in everything, and happiness in the Year of Snake.
Welcome to listen to and watch the live broadcasts of Mr. Ju and information technology professional MM and me every Tuesday. You can also find the text version of this video by going to Baidu or Google’s “Ethnic Communities Homeland Opportunities (ECHO) Multimedia Platform”. Much appreciated if you could help us spread messages of this video.
The topic I want to share with you today is “True Kindness in medical care! ” The protagonist is Professor Dr. Charlie Teo (“Zhang Zhengxian” in Mandarin/ Putonghua), one of the world leaders in minimally invasive neurological medicine in Australia, who is envied by the Australian medical community. Hereafter referred to as: “Charlie.”
At present, Charlie has made great achievements in China, training young and bright successors (medical practitioners) in China and continuing to provide a ray of hope for patients with brain tumors around the world. The reason why Charlie can be continued to pass on his outstanding surgical skills and knowledge in China is inseparable from a common saying in China. “It is only Bole, an expert in thoroughbred who can identify the best horse” In this context Professor Ling Feng is the nowadays’ Bole who welcomes Charlie joining her “Hainan Lingfeng neuromedicine Center (“the Center”).
Professor Ling founded the Center in the Second Provincial People’s Hospital in Wuzhishan, Sanya of Hainan Province. Her proud masterpiece many years ago was to save the life of Phoenix TV anchor Liu Hairuo (aka: Tanya Liu). For details, please refer to https://www.chinanews.com.cn/n/2004-04-16/26/426071.html reported by China News Service, Beijing on August 1st which reads: Professor Ling Feng, a Chinese female neurosurgeon, disclosed some little-known inside stories of the treatment of Phoenix female anchor Liu Hairuo in an interview with Ruan Cishan of Phoenix TV yesterday…”
Speaking of which, at the end of January 2025, Professor Ling Feng called me across the ocean to announce the good news. She told me how she and Charlie set a record for the Center on January 24, 2025. She then attached: A video interview about this medical legend in Wuzhishan, Hainan Province (hereinafter referred to as: the video). The content of the video is mainly Professor Ling Feng’s brief introduction and aftermath to the female patient’s surgery at the center: Professor Ling’s introduction was in Mandarin. The video has Chinese subtitles. Unfortunately, this video cannot be uploaded to YouTube. Please go to Baidu and follow the link hereunder to enjoy it: (https://pan.baidu.com/s/1X17MUfMhmv8KT1KJM5ZtKw?pwd=1867)
In addition, Professor Ling also provided the following text version in both Chinese and English of the video (Please take notice that I have left out the Chinese version for friends who would prefer English for the purpose of this scripts): Here is Professor Ling’s text version in English:
Quote “Tanya travelled many thousands of miles from Australia to here, a strange and unfamiliar place to her. She suffered from two tumors, one is a malignant glioma which wasn’t removed completely by the first operation in Australia and the second was a meningioma which was discovered here by us. So naturally she was very worried. Her coming here is a trust on Charlie and our hospital. As medical practitioners, we have to take extra care of her and help her remove her concern.
The operation was so successful that Tanya was discharged the next day. They are pure vegetarians and her son wants very much to taste Chinese dumplings. I think that’s easy. Since Tanya recovered so well and we Chinese people are about to celebrate the Chinese New Year, why not just coming to taste our homemade vegetarian dumplings! This way we could not only celebrate the success of the operation but also express the Chinese people’s warm-heartedness, friendship and sincerity as well as comfort her from anxiety. She will bring a good memory of our friendship and skills back home and become a Friendship Ambassador of China. I hope more Australian friends would come when Hainan province will become a full-fledged Free Port by the end of this year.” End-of-quote.
I will make a bilingual Chinese and English version of this video. The Chinese one was posted on 4 February, and I will find like-minded Australian friends to introduce the English one with or without my participation.
The ultimate purpose is not only to echo the special report on the above medical legend by Cydonee Mardon, editor of the Australian Sunday Telegraph on the 2nd of this month (the Special Report), but also to seek support from those in our Australian communities for clearing the name of Charlie by reference to one quarter of the Special Report reiterated that Charlie is a national treasure of minimally invasive neurosurgery in Australia and should not be subjected to Australia’s unjust Tribunal ruling. It forced brain cancer patients in Australia who were looking for a ray of hope to travel thousands of miles to China to receive Charlie’s surgery. Regarding unjust allegations against Charlie in Australia, I once shot a video in the middle of last year to introduce the relevant background. The text version of the video is called: “Australian National Treasure Meets Chinese Bole”. Please go to the following link of the National Voice to view it. https://www.echomaz.com/%E7%AE%80%E4%BD%93%E5%AD%97%E7%89%88-4/《 百年变局群英谱》 Column《澳洲国家宝遇中国百乐》
It is worth mentioning that Cydonee Mardon was once Charlie’s patient. Like other patients who were once rejuvenated by Charlie, she became Charlie’s die-hard fan. Cydonee Mardon also uploaded the Special Report to her own Facebook (the Facebook). Many of Charlie’s die-hard fans expressed on the Facebook their hope that the Australian Prime Minister would do justice for Charlie, so that Australian brain cancer patients can receive minimally invasive surgery from this master in Australia! Before I end, I attach a clip of Tanya’s interview from the Center. Please share it widely. Thank you.
